So yesterday I was watching Oprah and Jenny McCarthy was the guest. She was talking about autism and her new book, Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism
. Apparently at 2 1/2 her son, Evan, started having seizures and was diagnosed with autism. She believes the autism was caused by the MMR shot he received. This is a common belief. Autism is usually diagnosed around the same time the MMR shot is given. It is a pretty controversial topic. One thing is for sure. Autism is on the rise. 1 in 100 children are affected by it. Pretty scary.
Anyways, Jenny's book should be a good read for those interested.
