My first grader is really learning to read. It's amazing to watch the progress he's made in the month he's been in school. He bought a book at the book fair yesterday and can read most of the words. He's a huge Star Wars fan, so he bought Darth Maul's Mission
The newer Star Wars movies: Episode I The Phantom Menace, Episode II Attack of the Clones, Episode III Revenge of the Sith, have a lot of violence, but the older Star Wars movies: Episode IV A New Hope, Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Episode VI Return of the Jedi, aren't as violent. Star Wars provides a good tool for learning good vs. evil concepts for a school age child. The saga of how Anakin, a little boy, turned into Darth Vader, an evil man, is very interesting. It's a good lesson in making good choices and how everything that happens to a person affects them in some way and influences the type of person an innocent child turns into.
